Why it keeps coming back

You hosed it off. By 2pm it smells again.

You're not doing anything wrong — the smell just isn't where you think it is.

When your dog goes on turf, the urine drains straight past the blades and settles into the infill and backing underneath. As it dries it crystallizes into uric acid, which doesn't dissolve in plain water.

So a garden hose rinses the top and leaves the source untouched. Then the afternoon sun heats the turf, the crystals reactivate, and the whole backyard smells like a kennel again.

Water rinses. Enzymes digest. That's the whole difference — and it's why one visit from us outlasts a summer of hosing.

Our Process

How we actually fix it — in 5 steps

One visit, usually 1–2 hours. Here's exactly what we do to your turf.

1

Debris removal & power-broom grooming

Leaves, hair and buildup come out, and matted blades get stood back up so treatment can reach the infill.

2

Disinfecting & sanitizing

We treat the bacteria left behind by pet waste — the part you can't see but definitely smell.

3

Targeted pet-waste & urine enzyme treatment

Pet-safe enzymes are applied and worked down to the backing, where they break down uric acid instead of covering it.

4

Deodorizing at the source

A final odor-neutralizing pass at the base layer, not a fragrance sprayed over the top of the blades.

5

Full refresh rinse

Everything is flushed clean and the turf is groomed one last time so it looks and feels new again.

Safe for pets and kids once dry — usually the same day.

“Punctual. Great communication and the turf wash worked. I have 4 dogs that made it smell really bad. 36 hours later I don’t smell urine at all. I will definitely do the monthly service.”

Questions we get every week

How often should artificial turf be cleaned?
Most yards do well with a deep clean once or twice a year. If you have dogs, every 3–6 months keeps odor from ever building up in the infill in the first place.
Is it safe for my pets and kids?
Yes. We use pet-safe, eco-friendly enzyme products specifically made for artificial turf. The yard is safe to use again as soon as it's dry — usually the same day.
Will this actually get rid of the dog urine smell?
Yes — because we treat the backing and infill where the odor actually lives, not just the blades. The enzymes break down the uric acid instead of covering it with fragrance, so the smell doesn't come back the next hot afternoon.
How long does it take?
A typical residential turf area takes about 1–2 hours. Your yard is ready to use again as soon as it's dry.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size and condition of your turf and how many pets use it — see the pricing ranges above for a ballpark. Quotes are always free. Turf without pets can skip the enzyme treatment with our Brush & Vacuum option, from $155. Most homes with dogs do best on a monthly deep clean, which saves 20% per visit; bi-monthly saves 15% and quarterly saves 10%.
