Deep Flush + Extraction for turf odor that won’t go away

When dog urine has soaked deep into the infill and backing, surface treatments only mask it. We flush the turf and pull the urine back out with a turf extraction machine.

Is This You?

Signs your turf needs a deep flush

  • Dog urine odor keeps returning, even after cleanings.
  • You have multiple dogs and the Deep Clean + Enzyme doesn’t get rid of the smell completely.
  • Dogs use the same bathroom area over and over.
  • The turf smells worse in hot weather.
  • Drainage seems slower than it used to be.
  • Years of pet use without regular maintenance.
  • Pet hair is embedded deep in the turf.
  • Rinsing isn’t solving it, and surface treatments only help for a few days.
  • You’re thinking about replacing your turf mainly because of the smell.
Why It Works

Removing the urine, not covering it

Urine drains past the blades and builds up in the infill and backing. Enzymes break it down, but years of buildup need to physically come out. That’s what extraction does.

  1. 1

    Debris and hair out

We power-brush and remove debris, leaves and embedded pet hair so the flush can reach the base.

  2. 2

    Full flush

We flush the turf, infill and backing to release the urine and bacteria built up underneath.

  3. 3

    Extraction

A turf extraction machine, like a carpet cleaner for turf, pulls the dirty water back out instead of leaving it to soak in.

  4. 4

    Treat and groom

We finish with an enzyme treatment and groom the blades so the turf looks and smells fresh.

Recommended add-on

Infill application

Older or heavily used turf often loses infill. Adding fresh infill after the flush helps the blades stand up, supports drainage and gives odor less room to build. Ask us to include it in your quote.

After the Reset

Keep it from coming back

The Deep Flush + Extraction is a one-time reset, not part of recurring plans. Afterward, most homes with dogs keep it fresh with a monthly Deep Clean + Enzyme, which saves 20% per visit. See Turf Care Plans.

Questions

Deep Flush + Extraction FAQ

How is this different from the Deep Clean + Enzyme?
The Deep Clean + Enzyme treats urine in the infill and works for most yards with dogs. The Deep Flush + Extraction physically flushes the turf and backing and pulls the dirty water back out, for odor that keeps coming back.
How much does it cost?
It’s a custom quote based on your turf size and condition. Text a few photos to (805) 754-7099 or get a quote online.
Can this save me from replacing my turf?
If your turf is in good physical shape and the main problem is smell, a deep flush is usually worth trying before replacement.
Is it part of a recurring plan?
No. Think of it as a yearly reset. Afterward, a monthly Deep Clean + Enzyme keeps odor from building back up.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we can reach the yard and a hose spigot. Keep pets inside while we work.
